To help you prepare for this momentous occasion, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions specifically focused on the day of the commencement ceremony. Whether you are a graduate, a parent, or a guest, this list will provide you with essential information about this special day.

No, the ceremony is not ticketed, so graduates are able to bring as many guests as they would like.

Yes, the ceremony will be livestreamed on the Summer Commencement web page. A window to watch it will pop up on that page on the day of the ceremony.

Parking is free in all of the campus parking lots and garages. We recommend you park in the lots surrounding Worthern Arena.

Worthern Arena  will open at 9:00am. Graduates should be in their seats by 9:45am . We do recommend planning for traffic and delays since there will be several thousand people on campus.

The ceremony is estimated to last two hours.

Please visit or contact the Ball State Bookstore in the Art and Journalism Building the week of Commencement. They should have extras on hand and be able to assist you. Their phone number is 765-285-8080

The Registrar’s Office sent an email to all eligible students with pick-up options. They will also have these available for pick up at  Worthern Arena before the ceremony begins. 

Guests who need accessible seating should enter at Lower Level Gate 1.They are also able to be dropped off at Lower Level Gate 1. They will be directed to the elevator and the accessible seating areas. Please note – due to limited accessible seating, one guest will be permitted to sit with guests in the accessible section, but the rest of your party will have to sit in the regular seating areas nearby. Those who may need them are encouraged to bring their own wheelchairs and mobility devices. We do recommend you arrive early to your destination since several thousand people will be on campus that day. Please plan for traffic and delays.
