Our Society of Physics Students is a very active organization on campus.

Annually, we participate in campus events such as the Homecoming parade and College Bowl. We also have won national awards for our outreach program—Physics is Fun—to local middle and high school, encouraging students we visit to take science courses and major in the sciences.

Fundraising activities include bake sales and T-shirts. We do a lot of social activities as a club, including field trips to Argonne National Lab and tobogganing at Pokagon State Park.

We were selected as an outstanding chapter for 2005-06 by the national affiliate of Society of Physics Students. Our selection was based on the depth of our activities which include physics research, public science outreach, physics tutoring programs, and hosting and representation at physics meetings.

We meet weekly, and it’s a great way to meet new people.
