Our pre-dental hygiene program will prepare you for a dental hygiene program. Depending on your high school background, you can complete our program in one year.
Dental hygiene programs at Indiana universities

You may apply for admission to one or more of the five Indiana campuses offering dental hygiene programs listed. A separate application must be submitted to each campus. You should contact each program's director early in the fall semester of your freshman year for application forms, deadlines, and other requirements.

Once accepted into a dental hygiene program, you will complete a second and third year. A fourth year is required at the University of Southern Indiana. The three year curriculum leads to an associate in science degree, the fourth year to a Bachelor of Science degree.

Be aware admission into dental hygiene programs is competitive. Completing your freshman year at Ball State does not guarantee acceptance into one of the programs. To increase your eligibility we recommend that you maintain a good academic record, become knowledgeable about the profession, and observe and consult with a practicing dental hygienist.
