German Teaching Positions Available Now Or In The Near Future in Indiana:
1.) German Position at Noblesville High School: Posted on May 1, 2009 - sent for posting by Carolyn Beardshear:
"I am retiring and I am hoping there is an energetic, creative German teacher out there who would like to help expand the German program.
The job is at least 5-6 classes of German. I also have an English as a New Language class, but this will probably go to a current English teacher. There are 11-12 sections of German next year, enough for a 2 full time teachers and the program is growing. Last year we adopted the Michael Miller TPRS series and are using TPRStorytelling in Levels 1 and 2. Levels 3 and 4 (no mixed classes) use a variety of materials, but no single text.
Noblesville High School is a suburban high school of 2400 students located in Noblesville, an affluent suburb on the northeast side of Indianapolis. The school is 12 years old with excellent technology and a very supportive, capable administration. The students are very cooperative and reasonably=2 0motivated, even at this time of year. The faculty is extremely close-knit and helpful.
For 22 years we have had a private exchange program with a school in Hessen, which will continue. This is not a GAPP program but could easily be conducted under the auspices of GAPP. The exchange program has been very successful and draws many students into German.
Interested teachers are welcome to email me at carolyn_beardshear@mail.nobl.k12.in.us
