Design Course Description
DESIGN -  ARCH 302; Arch 400; LA 406: 
All of the WT2/P14 participants are enrolled in this interdisciplinary suite of design studio courses. These design studios courses are based upon observed, documented, and formulated sustainable design principles stimulated by the review of each culture, location and environment experienced through out the tour. A rapid-paced series of design exercises and explorations will challenge students to utilize principles gleaned from the other en-route courses (theoretical and analytical investigations). The design exercises will require the students to establish a problem-solving process that maximizes the discovery of plausible contemporary sustainable design solutions. The students will engage in hypothetical design problems with varying scales and contextual scenarios (urban, rural and natural environment surrounds).

Daily submittals of students’ design studio experiments and studies can be reviewed through the weekly collections organized in the web page network accessed below. 

Upon completing the tour, design studio course participants will develop and submit a summary/conclusions presentation of their design exercise sequence for review on this web site.
