One or two scholarships will be made annually to a full time student(s) with a declared major or minor in women's studies. Recipients must be in their junior or senior year of study and have earned a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Preference will be given to those demonstrating financial need; however, other qualified students also will be eligible for the award. Awards will be made without regard to race, sex, religion, color, national origin, physical and mental handicap, age, or ancestry.
The Ball State University Foundation will determine the annual availability of scholarship funds. Award recipients will be chosen by the Women's Studies Advisory Committee in consultation with the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid during the spring semester (with funds becoming available for the following academic year). The first Muriel and Irene Goldman Scholarship was awarded for the 2000-2001 academic year. Each year, the recipient name(s) will be engraved on a perpetual plaque displayed in the Women's Studies Program office.
