The Clay Township Historical & Preservation Society Museum in Greens Fork held a dedication ceremony at 3:00 PM on June 25, 2011, for the newly added “Graduate Room” and Memorial Garden.
The new “Graduate Room” contains memorabilia, photos, and articles from and about the former Greens Fork High School. A piece of blackboard from the school is displayed on one of the walls. A table, made from pieces of the 1925 gym floor, holds pictures and items from the school. This new addition allows for wheelchair access into the facility. The new room was made possible by contributions from former students and graduates of the school.
A painting, done by Jack & Doris Phelps, enhances the “Grad Room” and depicts the school progression from log cabin to four subscription schools. In 1877, the first consolidated school in Indiana was built in the town with the last school being completed in 1908.

d Following the dedication, ice cream was served, similar to what “Allison’s Drug Store” used to have in years past when it was the local school “hangout.” Items from the drug store are on display inside the museum.
