As a native of Cincinnati, Ohio Emily originally came to Ball State University in 2005 because of its proximity to home, the nationally recognized Miller College of Business, and the opportunity to play soccer for a successful program. Emily had many immersive learning experiences at Ball State including creating training programs for a local non-profit organization, doing market research for a growing digital media company, and working as a Human Resource Intern for the Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. After four years as a student-athlete Emily graduated in May of 2009 with a degree in Human Resource Management and two minors in Economics and Organizational Communication. Based on her desire to utilize the knowledge she gained in business school in addition to her athletic experiences, Emily decided to pursue a graduate degree in Wellness Management at Ball State’s Fisher Institute for Wellness and Gerontology. She is now working on Working Well Resources as the Project Manager for Workplace Initiatives. Emily is currently editing a wellness program handbook to guide Indiana businesses in their wellness initiatives. She hopes to use what she learns at the Institute to help companies develop and maintain successful wellness programs. Outside of wellness Emily has many hobbies which include enjoying the company of her friends and family, playing intramural sports, running, bike rides, boating, sewing and other crafts, gardening, and watching football (especially the Bengals!)
