ADMINISTRATION

I administer two university programs.

My work as co-director of the CapAsia field study program is described elsewhere on this website.

My tenure as director of the Postprofessional Master of Architecture II program began in 1999. With the assistance of graduate faculty members and the university's densest concentration of international graduate students (including, in recent years, persons from Argentina, China, Finland, Germany, India, Mexico, Nepal, Thailand, Turkey, the US, and Yugoslavia) we have implemented a 'GLOBAL CITIZEN-ARCHITECT' model of engagement.

The photograph at left was taken in 2002 at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, as designed by the office of Frank O. Gehry Associates.

In the photo with me are (from left) Elif Tandogan (Turkey), Kwanlert Nunthavisith (Thailand), Jing Qiang Li (China), Tuelay Guenes (Germany), Fabian Thode (Germany), Nishit Somaiya (India), Beth Wood (US), and Chamnarn Tirapas (Thailand).

This five-day field trip also included overnight stays in Oberlin and Columbus, Ohio, and Pittsburgh, Pennsyvania. We toured architectural works by Wright (Fallingwater), Pei, Eisenman, McDonough, Mangurian and Hodgetts, Vinoly, Venturi & Scott Brown, and Johnson; and visited architecture programs at Carnegie-Mellon University and Ohio State University.
