Pallet Workshop w/ I-Beam Design 2004

Several ideas shaped our workshop. The Pallet House, conceived by I-Beam Design in 1999, provided transitional shelter for refugees returning to Kosovo after the war. According to the Penguin Atlas of War and Peace (2004), there are 40 million refugees in the world. A number of our graduate students built structures made of timber pallets.

We set out to extend I-Beam's ideas and those of our students, and to work on behalf of people around the world and in the US who need housing, NOW!
