26262625 Architects: Arbor 2001+, (+ Sohith Perera)

. . . A galvanized steel frame supports found objects, from cut saplings to steel skin mesh skin, vines, moonflowers, a hammock, and lights. The jury pronounced this project 'Wonderful, personal, and poetic.' They were intrigued by the temporary nature of the project as well as its exemplification of the healing quality of environments and their 'ability to keep life sane.'

I bring architecture students; they build, and I learn from them, extending their interventions with my own ideas. My parents are both deceased (dad in 1993, mom in 2002), and the arbor now contains artifacts from their lives.
