University Computing Services
iLocker
University Computing Services is pleased to offer a new storage service to students, faculty and staff.  The storage service, called iLocker, will be available Fall Semester 2005.  Accounts are hosted and maintained by University Computing Services.

iLocker is a data storage solution that provides students, faculty and staff  with 2 gigabytes of storage for personal use, such as backing up important documents and files.  It's a perfect solution for storing data as an alternative to floppy/ZIP disks and CDs/DVDs and is accessible virtually anywhere.  In conjunction with ePrint, another new service that allows you to print to a file instead of paper, saving and storing papers, screen shots, and other printable items is even easier.

Account Creation:

The first step in accessing your iLocker space is creating your iLocker account.  You must be a current student, faculty, or staff with a valid BSU Computer Username to create an iLocker account.  It is the account owner's responsibility to create, manage, and monitor their iLocker account.  To create your iLocker account visit Creating an iLocker for instructions.

Accessing iLocker account from labs/Bracken:

Once you've created your account you're ready to go.  If you are in a University Computing Services Lab or in Bracken Library visit Accessing iLocker in the Labs for instructions on accessing your account.

Accessing iLocker account from non-labs/off-campus:

Accessing your iLocker account outside of the labs or library requires an additional step if you are a Windows client.  Mac users will have no change.  University Computing Services is in final testing of a software tool, WebDrive, that provides remote access to your account from any computer no mater where you are located.  During the final completion of testing, UCS recommends Window users to use IE or FTP to access their iLocker account.  Visit Accessing iLocker Remotely for details.

Other means of access:

There are other protocols to remotely access your iLocker account other than WebDrive, IE and FTP.  For more information on various topics regarding iLocker, please read the iLocker FAQs.
