David Studinski's

Profile

Major:
Journalism with a news-editorial emphasis

Minor: Sociology

Hometown: Fort Wayne, IN – Homestead HS

"If you’ve lived in the Fort – you know the feel: It’s a big city with a small town feel. Cliché as it is – it’s true. I was very involved in the city and still like to be when I return home – which isn’t so much anymore."

Hobbies / Interests...

"I’m so actively involved in the J-department that I don't have too many weeknights to myself. I enjoy it that way, though – I’d rather have too much to do than too little. I really enjoy spending time with my friends during the downtime – usually checking out the Village scene on any given Friday night. Outside of that, I enjoy reading random stuff when I can – surfing the Internet for random stuff and – back when – updating my blog at www.bewilderedsociety.com.  Also have interests in TCOM and Web stuff – although that’s not an official major/minor of mine."

Involvement...

"I’m the editor in chief of the Ball State Daily News this year. I’m also involved with the BSU chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists."

Major Remarks...

"I’m so actively involved in the J-department that I don't have too many weeknights to myself. I enjoy it that way, though – I’d rather have too much to do than too little. I came to BSU for the J department and started as a journalism graphics major, but since changed to news editorial.  I have been really happy with how things have worked out. Life is what you make of it here – and if you want to get involved, this is the best place to be. Ball State offers a great program for journalism, but it’s the student organizations that make the department shine."

"I’ve taken a handful of graphics classes and all but two of my required news-editorial classes. Working in the newsroom, I’ve gotten to know and understand a lot of the other majors and classes – so if I can’t give you an answer personally, I’m happy to find out for you."

"Hit me up at fortdj00@gmail.com or dpstudinski@bsu.edu  – there’s also AIM: fortdj00."
