The fifth annual conference of the Holmes Partnership was held in Albuquerque,
New Mexico, on January 26-28, 2001. The theme of this year's conference,
The Diverse Faces of Partnership, was reflected in the host partnerships,
the city, and the state.
The conference was organized under four major strands representing the
various components of teacher development. Each strand began with a keynote
address and concluded with break-out sessions highlighting exemplary practices,
in which local partnerships were asked to contribute summaries of Best
Practices in their own partnerships.
Ball State University's Urban Semester model was recognized on Saturday
as a Best Practice in a presentation entitled The Urban Experience:
A Project of Simultaneous Renewal for Ball State University and Indianapolis
Public Schools, presented by Susan Johnson and Patty Hughes.
