Welcome to the NHS Annual Health Fair Web Page!!! In March 2000, I organized and started the first annual health fair at Northeastern Junior-Senior High School in Fountain City, Indiana. It was very important for me to establish some type of a wellness program for our staff and faculty. After analyzing recent statistics, I discovered school districts that establish a wellness program experience many extra benefits.
I developed a digital movie demonstrating the positive and pleasant results received from our faculty and staff by the exhibitors. I would like to thank the following businesses for participating in our health fair: IUE Wellness Center, Health Connection, Therapeutic Alternatives, TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), Reid Hospital, and American Cancer Society. Our health fair consisted of cholesterol screenings, stress tests, body fat percentages, nutritional analysis, smoking cessation information, chair massages, and blood pressure checks.
