The Ball State Storm Chase Team mission is to provide the east-central Indiana community, particularly the city of Muncie and Ball State University, timely information regarding the state of severe thunderstorms within the local area. A second but parallel objective is to contribute to a greater understanding of severe local storms and severe local storms atmospheric environments in the Midwest.

Adopt-a-Highway
The annual Adopt-a-Highway has been rescheduled for Thursday, May 1st. The team is looking for as many members as we can to help cleanup its share of Route 332, west of Muncie. We will meet at Menards parking lot around 1pm. Bring working gloves with you! Free LUNCH afterwards

Science on the Greenway
Thanks to everyone who helped out at Science Day. We had over 200 kids show up, double the amount from last year!

2008-09 Officer Elections
As the team nears the end of the semester, many of us are already looking forward to the 2008-09 Academic Year. The team will be looking to fill vacancies in the following positions: Assistant Director, Secretary, Treasurer, and Seargent of Arms. If you are considering running, please pick-up a nomination form at our next meeting.

New Look!
The webpage has a new look but the feel remains the same. Changes to the webpage were completed as of February 17, 2007.

Pam Daale Memorial Scholarship
The Central Iowa Chapter of the National Weather Association is sponsoring a $1,000 scholarship in memory of broadcast meteorologist Pam Daale. The award will be presented at the 2007 Severe Storms and Doppler Radar conference and the winner must attend the conference to receive the scholarship. The scholarship application can be found here.

NWS Central Indiana Severe Weather Symposium: Greenwood, IN. March 1, 2008
The Central Indiana AMS chapter along with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, IN will be hosting the Central Indiana Severe Weather Symposium at the Valle Vista Conference Center in Greenwood, IN on Saturday, March 1, 2008 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. NWA 12th Annual Severe Storms & Doppler Radar Conference: Des Moines, IA. March 27-29, 2008
The National Weather Association of Central Iowa will be holding their annual severe storms and doppler radar conference in Des Moines, IA from March 27-29, 2008. Cost for registration is $65 for students through March 15th and $75 for students after March 15th. Additional information can be found here.
