Baaa…. The Teenage sheep

Disclaimer: This essay or rant or whatever you want to call it is in no way to be taken seriously. I do hope you do get something out of this though, whether it is a new person for your hit list or a new reason to commit suicide.

You might be wondering why I titled this the way I did. The reason is that the teenagers today are now basically sheep. Just go to the mall, theater, or any “teeny” hangout on a weekend. You will see clusters of preps (who from this point on will be referred to as “sheep”) standing and talking to each other. This is not necessarily a bad thing, even though on general principle I hate preps. The main thing that gets to me is their total lack of any form of individuality. They all act the same, dress the exact same, and talk in the same sarcastic idiot tone. Now you are probably asking what this has to do with actual sheep in the real world. If you have ever been by a farm or seen sheep then you might be able to tell where I am coming from. Sheep generally all act the same, and do the same dumb things as each other. Right now you are asking yourself what about the head sheep. Well, even little “sheep” clicks have a leader. He is the one you hear saying the dumb “buzz phrases” we hear so often. For example, “Fag”, “Weirdo”, and “Psycho Trenchcoat Killer”. Now, as soon as this main “sheep” finishes that the other “sheep” feel obligated to laugh or point or whatever. But you should remember one thing; it is always the lead sheep that leads the others off the cliff. Another way they are like sheep are the exclusion of those different than themselves. Just as sheep stay away from the ones with the spots or bad leg, “sheep” also ostracize those different than themselves. It can be as easy as someone who doesn’t wear Abercrombie or Old Navy. It can also be as bad as making fun of the other “sheep” that try to have an independent thought. So the next time you pass an Abercrombie and Fitch, feel free to shout “Baaaaaaaaaaaaa” into the store with abandon. Thank you for your time and good night!
