rGrade
is a web-based, rubric-driven grading and assessment
environment. It is a central component of a
performance-based assessment model, in which the student's
demonstration of learning is examined and assessed using a
lens defined by a rubric and made evident to the student
before, during, and after engagement in the learning
activity. rGrade can be used for all grading in a course,
regardless of whether it is a rubric-based assignment or
not. Both digital (web-based) and non-digital artifacts can
be assessed as assignments. Student learning and an instructor's own performance can be analyzed using standardized instruments or ad hoc rubrics.
