The goal of this competition is to develop a track that will carry a marble on the quickest trip between two points. Your team belongs to one of three groups which are based on your enrollment in physics, pre-calculus, or both physics and pre-calculus.

All teams will begin the design process at the same point. You will be using the "f(g) Scholar" computer program or the "Graphical Analysis" program to explore the shapes of various mathematical functions and develop criteria to judge which shapes may be the most appropriate for producing the fastest travel time.

 Expectations and Evaluations

Each group will produce an electronic record of their work using PowerPoint. WebPages are available for using PowerPoint and using the graphing programs.

Beyond these basic guidelines, students were divided depending on their course enrollment. The WebPages include evaluation criteria and a self-assessment form for the different groups to fill out and hand in.
