CAREER OBJECTIVE
To teach Speech Communication/Language Arts at the Secondary Level while
being involved with extra
curricular activities including but not limited to debate and sports.
Teaching Experience
Spring 2002 Assigned
to Burris Middle School in Muncie, Indiana for the month of April as a
participating student for
two seventh gradeLanguage Arts classes. My duties included planning
and teaching two lessons using
differentiated instruction as well as technology to instruct students.
Spring 2002
Currently enrolled in a Secondary Education participation class at Ball
State University. Contents of the
course include classroom instruction on teaching and lesson planning as
well as practical field experience. I
was assigned to Yorktown High School in Yorktown, Indiana for the month
of February for one block
period per day. Duties included planning and teaching several lessons
and helping students on a daily
basis with the writing and delivering of speeches.
April-June 1997 Instructional Assistant with
Program Director duties at WEDM-FM, Warren Central High School (Walker
Career Center) in Indianapolis, Indiana. I worked one on one and
in classroom settings evaluating
students' airshifts, newscasts, and sportscasts.
Current Occupation
2001-Present Graduate
student at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana where I am pursuing
a Master's Degree
in Secondary Education as well as a teaching license. I am a graduate
assistant for the elementary
education department where my duties include working in the Reading Resource
Center (A
library for pre-service teachers) and other tasks assigned by professors
such as data entry and library
searches. I plan to graduate in May of 2003 upon the completion of
my student teaching.
Other Work Experience
1997-2000
Customer Service Representative for Belden Wire and Cable Company of Richmond,
IN. (8/97-2/98 as a temporary through Manpower of Richmond, IN).
Duties included
working with customers on all aspects of sales and service.
1993-1997
Mid-day Disc Jockey for WQLK-FM, Hot Country Kicks 96, Richmond, Indiana.
I had the highest
rated mid-day show in Wayne County. Duties also included promotions
and public relations.
1994-1997
Morning Drive Host for Newstalk 930 WHON-AM, Richmond, Indiana. Duties
included moderating
news, sports, and weather reports. I also conducted daily interviews
with elected officials, authors,
doctors, and other community leaders. Topics focused on contemporary
issues.
1992-1993
Disc-Jockey/Music Director for WQLK-FM, K-96, Richmond, Indiana.
Duties included an air-shift,
production, and being in charge of the playlist.
1991-1992
News Director/Morning Drive Announcer for WERK-AM-FM, Muncie, Indiana.
Duties included
production of commercials and remotes.

Graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications
and a minor in
Speech Communications.
