Ball State University will be hosting the 2002 OHECC conference. This annual
conference brings together more than 250 professionals representing academic
computing, administrative computing, voice, video, data, and networking services
at Ohio’s premier Higher Education Institutions. Attendees at last fall’s
conference included more than 50 Directors and Managers from 24 institutions.
The theme for the conference is"Digital Delivery: Convergence or
Chaos?". This theme highlights the rapidly changing higher
education environment and the impact of the digital delivery of information in
all our lives. During the three-day conference, OHECC will feature approximately
forty breakout sessions on such topics as distance learning, digital portfolios,
video streaming and conferencing, bandwith shaping, security, business
processes, and the impact of new technologies on the educational process.
Emphasis will be on the impact the digital delivery of voice, video, and data.
Where is this technology working well, and where is it not?
The conference begins with workshops Monday morning April 8, followed by a
luncheon, and concludes after a noon luncheon on Wednesday, April 10. Conference
sponsors are welcome to attend all three days. The Crowne Plaza hotel is located
in Union Station, downtown Indianapolis and will be host for all OHECC events.
The conference will have a vendor display area that will accommodate 8 x 8
booth displays. The vendor display area will be open on Monday from 1:00 pm to
7:00 pm and Tuesday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The area will be open to all
conference attendees and guests.
Another opportunity for vendors to receive recognition is to donate items for
a traditional "door-prize" raffle held during Wednesday’s luncheon.
Past door prizes have included PDA’s, vendor shirts, software, training
materials, coffee mugs, etc.
If you prefer we will also accept cash donations. All vendor sponsorships and
donations valued at over $1000 and received by March 1, 2002 will be
acknowledged in the conference agenda booklet.
