Deadline February 22, 2002
The second annual EDUCAUSE
current issues survey finds administrative systems
challenges have escalated, the IT staffing crisis
continues, online education is steady state, and security
management has the potential to explode (Educause
Quarterly, 2001, p. 4). The mass market of education,
along with demands of learners, employers, and society, is
transforming traditional education to the new educational
system with many challenges.
- Educational opportunity is not just
local but also national and global.
- Re-engineering in business operations
and instructional deliveries is essential.
- Digital communication, collaboration, and digital
resources for cognition must support on-campus
and off-campus educational programs.
- Partnership is key for the success of educational programs
and development of quality teaching/learning
resources.
OHECC 2002 invites you to share
with us your creative ideas, programs, experiences, and
services that took advantage of technology and dealt with
above challenges.
Suggestions would include, but not be limited to:
1. E-business systems
2. Support and training models
3. Technology-based teaching and learning models
4. Emerging technologies and practices
5. Partnerships and collaboration (K-12, business,
government agencies, other institutions)
6. Infrastructure (networking, wireless, security)
7. IT management and supervision
8. Other important issues in higher education
