Huffer Memorial Children’s Center is a non-profit early childhood
education center providing child care services. It is a participating agency of United Way.
The Center is currently licensed by the Indiana Family and Social
Services Administration to provide education and care for 170 children ages 2
through 10. A before and after
school program and a summer day camp program are available for school-age
children.
A volunteer board of directors from the community administers the
program in cooperation with the Huffer Staff.
The Huffer Staff is made up of edu-care professionals who enjoy
sharing their lives with children. They
combine gentle care with developmentally appropriate learning experiences t o
make each child’s day a positive experience.
All staff members have extensive training in early care and education.
Student teachers, participants, and volunteers also help provide a
quality program for the children.
The cost for childcare is based on family income.
United Way of Delaware County funds support a sliding fee scale.
Indiana Child Care and Development Funds (CCDF)* are available to cover day care costs for low-income
families who meet the qualifications. All
forms of childcare vouchers are accepted.
