The increasing employment of mothers of young children has occurred rapidly. The growing alternative to home care for children of working mothers is institutional day care. Children are an increasingly scarce resource in our state, and their care and education are a necessary priority for us all. Many children, living in the present, are in single parent families. Some children have two sets of parents and half brothers or sisters which often poses difficulties for children in their growing-up years. It is extremely important that institutional day care personnel realize and provide them with the care they need. Huffer Memorial Children's Center recognizes and accepts the responsibility of providing children in Delaware County a "family atmosphere" for their social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth.
