Midterm Report Guidelines

The intern's five-page Report should be double-spaced, paginated, formatted in a 12-point font, and feature a one-inch margin all around.  At the top of the first page list your name, the course number and section number  [History 300/ -369, section -003/-004] the date, the name of the assignment [Midterm Report], and the name of your internship site.

Your Midterm Report should address the following points:

2) Articulate how the knowledge or skills you are acquiring in the internship fit in with your educational, career, and life goals.

3) Identify specific skills and concepts you learned in your University history curriculum that you have been able to draw on and apply at the internship site, especially including Hist. 240, 320, and 445.

4) Discuss the impact the internship has had on your values, ethics, and interpersonal skills to date.

5) Comment on what you have found to be the most positive or satisfying aspects of the internship experience to date.

6) Assess the limitations or any negative aspects of the internship to date.

7) Suggest what additional concrete ways the a) internship site, b) site staff (including your site supervisor), and c) your academic supervisor could help provide you with a more meaningful experience during the second half of your internship.

8) Identify specific things you yourself can do that would enhance your learning experience during the second half of your internship.
