Suppose you are interested in finding out why some people are non-partisan and do not identify with either of the two major parties in the U.S.  Use the GSS93 subset and complete the following:

 

            1) Recode partyid

                        Non-partisan: Ind near Dem, Independent, Ind near Rep

                        Partisan: Strong Dem, Weak Dem, Weak Rep, Strong Rep

                                   

                                    *Remember to code non-partisan as 1.

 

2) Using the variables, partyid, educ, sex, and age in the GSS93 subset, perform logit.  

2) Calculate the predicted probability of (y = Non-partisan) when educ equals 13 by holding age and sex constant. Repeat this and calculate the predicted probability when educ equals 17.
