My Professional Philosophy

I believe that a school should be a safe learning environment for all students.  Providing a safe working and learning environment is vital to ensure successful teaching and learning.  Students must feel secure and comfortable in an educational setting in order for learning to take place.  Students should feel free to express themselves without the fear of ridicule or humiliation.
A teacher is a role model that he or she should reflect what they teach and continuously improve his or her methods.   As a future educator, I hope to provide my students with a positive image and serve as a role model for all of education.  I will portray a positive self-image and give my students a fine example to follow.
Respect is an integral part of the learning process.  In order for learning to take place at the maximal level, respect is a prerequisite.  Respect is a two-way street.  It must be earned by the students and the teacher.
Most importantly, teachers should be enthusiastic and motivating.  If a teacher is always enthusiastic, it will aid him or her in motivating the students to perform the required tasks, and it will enhance the ability to communicate effectively with the students.  A teacher who is having a great time teaching will get students more interested in learning as opposed to a teacher who seems bored and dull.
