The Master of Arts degree in mathematics provides students with a broad graduate level mathematical background suitable for pursuing a Ph.D. degree in the mathematical science or for seeking employment in business, industry, or government.  Students pursuing the master of science degree will be required to write a 6-hour thesis.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must meet the regular admission requirements of the Graduate School and have an undergraduate major in mathematics or an equivalent background as determined by the Department of  Mathematical Sciences.
