Many resorts offer programs in a variety of wellness areas. The resorts
profiled here are just some of the well-known resorts in the wellness field,
and are in different parts of the country with different purposes and goals.
The following information profiles three wellness resorts, Green
Mountain at Fox Run, The Cooper
Wellness Program and Canyon Ranch
Health Resort. These three have comprehensive programs in many

Mountain at Fox Run
Green Mountain at Fox Run is a women's weight loss and healthy lifestyle change resort. It is well-known nationally for its non-diet approach to weight loss. Women can choose to stay at the resort for one, two, three or four week sessions. There is limited enrollment to allow for more personalized experiences for all participants. Green Mountain at Fox Run is located in Ludlow, Vermont, and is part of the Green Mountain National Forest.

The Cooper Wellness Program is one program offered through The Cooper Aerobics Center in Dallas, Texas. The program focuses on realistic methods for making healthy lifestyle changes. It is offered as a residential 4-day, 6-day or 13-day program. It is a medically based program, with options including comprehensive medical testing, educational workshops, heart-healthy gourmet meals, personal training sessions, luxury spa appointments, and a variety of recreational opportunities and group exercise classes.

The Canyon
Ranch Health Resort in Tucson, Arizona, focuses on being an all-inclusive
healthy vacation, and is a retreat for healing and renewal. There
is a weeklong life-enhancement program, as well as specialty weeks that
go in-depth into specific wellness topics, including a healthy heart week,
optimal aging week, and a women's retreat. Those visiting Canyon
Ranch have access to fitness classes, a fully-equipped spa and a daily
selection of lectures, workshops and cooking demonstrations.
