Layout of the Lesson:

	Student will work in small groups and will be assigned a cause of the Civil War to research
	Students will research and explain in detail their given cause
	Students will utilize resources provided by the teacher and create a PowerPoint presentation over their given cause.
	Teacher will use student PowerPoint presentations as a platform for discussion of the causes of the Civil War.

Assignment/Instruction

Groups of Three

	Groups will research a given cause of the Civil War
	Groups will work together to create a 3 slide PowerPoint with detailed explanation of their cause (See Rubric for details)
	Groups will show teacher final product and revise if necessary
	Teacher will use group PowerPoint presentations to lead a discussion
	Class will then compare and contrast the causes and decide which causes contributed most
