Who Am I ?
I am a Freshman Telecommunications major with a focus in News Broadcasting from Ball State University. I graduated from Merrillville High School (Merrillville, Indiana) in 2002. Since 2nd Grade my family and I have lived in Merrillville but, before that, I lived in Houston, Texas and Dolton, Illinois. At home I live with my Dad, Tim (Ideal Box Company), my Mom, Nancy (Does everything), and my brother, Nick (Merrillville High School Junior). However, as of next school year I will be living in Castleton, Indiana (outside of Indianapolis) with my two best friends, Kris Dabu (University of Indianapolis Freshman) and Brandon Waldrop (Merrillville High School Senior, soon to be IUPUI student).
I thrive as an individual through the support of my friends. They make me the person I am, and I owe them for a lot of happiness I have in my life. Being at college has shown me who I really need in my life. The people I've been missing day in and day out are the people who I will always treasure as my true friends. Don't get me wrong, college is a great experience, but I will never forget the great people that have shaped me into the person I am. And there isn't a day that passes that I don't think about that. Whether they're in college miles away or back at home in Merrillville, they all share equal importance in my life. Hobbies / Interests
It is well known that I have been a performer all my life, on one level or another. And I plan on being one all my life, as I am majoring in Television News. So, my hobbies revolve around the stage and the camera, in one way or another. Here are a few links and descriptons of organizations that I have been apart of throughout my life that have affected me greatly. Take a look!
Merrillville Choir Website - Here you will find the site for my High School choir, Choralteens and Vocalteens. There are pictures of performances, trips, sound bites, and much, much more. This site has more pictures of my friends and me than we do! The site is maintained by my good friend and choir technician, Tom Dobes.
Merrillville High School Drama Website - This site is of my High School Drama Troupe. Here you may find up to date information on what the Dramatic Society is doing, along with a few pictures of productions.
M&M Productions Website - From 8th grade on I have participated in a Regional / Community Theatre group that has put on professional-level musicals. If you are ever in Northwest Indiana and looking for great theatre, look at this site for information.
Pirate News Network - From Freshman to Junior year I was active in my High School's television studio and radio station. I was a DJ, Producer, Anchor, and Reporter.
Quill and Scroll - A High School organization meant to praise excellence in media.
NewsCenter 43 - This is the Ball State club that broadcasts live newscasts at 9 pm Monday through Thursday. I am a reporter for this organization and you can see my reports on Tuesday newscasts.
