Welcome
to my website! The following pages contain contact information,
my portfolio and the INTASC/AYA standards, examples of what
I have achieved, and my philosophy on teaching.
philosophy of teaching
I
believe that teaching and learning is a dynamic process. Both
demand continuous reflection, adaptation, innovation, and
dedication.
I
view teaching as a process of encouraging students to make
connections between their experiences and the subject matter.
We, as teachers, should guide students through their experiences
and the subject matter while facilitating new discoveries.
Critical
to the future, I believe that it is necessary to recognize
and embrace changing technologies. We must realize that these
technologies shape the ways in which students process and
receive information. Incorporating contemporary and popular
forms of communication and delivery can further engage students’,
and present subject matter in more accessible ways.
My
ultimate goal is to equip students for future learning experiences
within and beyond academia. By building a partnership with
students, the community, faculty, and staff I hope to play
a lasting role in my students development as pro-active learners,
critical thinkers, problem-solvers, and citizens.
