iBooks and iMovie Tutorial: |
The first thing that the students learned was the basics of the iBooks. Ms. Davies, the technology coordinator, showed the students the touch pad, screen, and the basics of the iBooks. She explained the basic functions of the iBooks. She also taught them the proper way to handle the iBooks, and what they should and should not do when it came to using the iBooks. The students worked with becoming familiar with iMovie. The application that they worked with was the tutorial in iMovie. This tutorial allowed them to move frames, edit clips, add transitions, and add titles. The tutorial let them view the movie as it was created, and to view it after the students had altered it. The one thing that the tutorial lacked was showing the students how to import the clips, because the clips were already imported for the students. The main reason for using this tutorial was to have the students become familiar with using iMovie, and the iBooks. |

Simple Machine Scavenger Hunt: |
Before the scavenger hunt, the teacher lectures students on the safety of handling the digital camera. The students will watch a sample movie about Wedges. The teacher has a discussion with the class about what makes it a good movie. The teacher then assigns students in five groups each having a different simple machine. The students are giving a worksheet displaying name and examples of each simple machine and asked to locate around the school. The students task will be to use the digital camera to develop a movie displaying their understanding of how each simple machine makes work easier. |

iMovie: |
Within IMovie, students will use their video to create a movie. The students will import and edit as a group. Students can use sound, color, transitions, and other effects in Imovie to create the movie. |
