Philosophy
of Teaching
My philosophy as a soon to be teacher is that
i want teach children the basic skills they need to live well in the
world. I agree that teachers should focus on discipline and
organized knowledge and try to teach skills as effectively as
possible. We as teachers are here to teach these children what we
know, but also realize that the student is the learner and needs
interaction and encouragement. I also believe that teachers
should allow the students to participate and be problem solvers in the
classroom. Group activities are important to allow children to
interact with others and learn how to work in-group settings to help
prepare them for the real worked. We as teachers need to keep
children interested in learning new things and make things exciting and
fun so that they will be eager to learn and obtain the information they
need to know for the rest of their lives. I think choosing
teaching, as a profession is a challenging proposition. We, as
teachers, are largely responsible in deterring the outcome of a child's
life by what we do or do not teach them. We have considerable
influence and how we choose to use it will ultimately determine how
effective we are as teachers. Through appropriate instruction and
discipline I believe i will be an effective teacher.
