INTASC Principle 3

The teacher understands how students differ in their approaches to learning and creates instructional opportunities that are adapted to diverse learners.

“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awake joy in creative expression and knowledge.”
            Albert Einstein

As a junior in high school I was in a class that catered directly to my learning style.  Because of this I did very well in this class.  However, it was very hard for me to understand why some of my peers were doing so poorly .  It was at this point in my education that I realized that everyone has different styles for learning.  Because of this experience I am passionate about making sure that the classes I teach cater to all of the learning styles.
Those various learning styles add such a variety to the classroom and make it possible to have much more creative and enriching lessons.  Why stick to the traditional lecture, notes, and a quiz when you can spice it up with a game, an experiment, or a discussion?
By varying the style of presentation more students are going to succeed which will in turn build up confidence for the next lesson students face.  They also learn that all students learn differently and that that is okay which later translates into the importance of diversity in life.
