[ball.state.university]

hmm...what should i say about wonderful ball state university?  ball state is a good medium-sized campus of around 18,000 students that avoids the lost feeling you get when wandering around larger campuses like indiana and purdue.  the faculty has been satisfactory thus far in my educational career, although many of the professors i have this semester are trying my patience.  ball state is known particularly for its excellent programs in both architecture and teaching, and this reputation is what mainly attracted me to coming here.  i think the main aspect i enjoy the most is relative compactness of the campus itself.  rather than spending a half hour walking from class to class, you can generally make it from one end of campus to the other in less than fifteen minutes, which can prove to be very rewarding during the cold winter months.  come visit sometime to see how you like it.  i think each person gets their own distinctive opinion when they visit.

oakland.jpg (18086 bytes)good old muncie is an average town of around 70,000 people that surrounds ball state university.  muncie is only an hour and a half or so from my hometown of fort wayne, yet i never really checked out the town of muncie before deciding to attend bsu.  to me, muncie seems much like a miniature fort wayne with it's own mall and restaurants everywhere.  this town has all the regular stuff like movie theaters, wal-marts, etc., but unfortunately it offers little entertainment for its college residents besides the bars.  compared to most other cities its size though, i would say it does better than most in offering variety and abundance of stores.

[411.swinford.hall]

ahh...this is my wonderful room that i spend my freshman year of college in.  my roommate seth and i are staying in the honors dorms on the fourth floor of swinford hall.  the honors rooms are a weird z-shape instead of your basic square, so the room is actually divided into three parts.  the first picture you see is the far side where our futon and kitchen area is located.  make sure you notice my wonderful dragonball z wall scroll hanging in the back there.  it has goten and trunks forming gotenks.  this next picture to your right is the middle area of the room where our computer and tv stuff is located.see how convenient that is?  you can sit on the futon and watch tv or you can get up and fix something to eat without missing a beat of your favorite tv show.  are we smart or what!  we are lucky enough to have a 30-inch tv, a vcr, a dvd player, a super nintendo, a nintendo 64, and our own scanner and printer.  pretty amazing, huh?  seth's huge dvd collection is below the tv along with some random tapes of mine that have crap on them.  the third and final area of our room is the sleeping area that houses our clothes and bunk beds.i sleep on the bottom bunk and seth sleeps on the top.  our clothes and stuff are in the closet that you really can't see too well.  just take my word for it, it's there.  we also have rope light all around the room, although we hardly ever turn it on.  this room is a really great place!  there's just about everything you can think of in there!  if you don't believe me, come visit me sometime and i'll prove it to you.  it's not ball state, but rather 411 Swinford that has everything you need!  overall, not a bad setup!  pretty awesome!
