 12.31.01 - 01.01.02 | New Year's Eve Partyarea : one schedule

Once again I held my annual New Year's Eve party, this time to ring in the year 2002.  This party was kinda thrown together at the last minute considering I had just gotten back from Florida the week before.  I still thought that it turned out rather well.  The party had it's usual guest list with Megan, Seth, Erin, Emily, Chris, and Sarah, but this year added a new face with Katie joining the fun.We ate wonderful snacks provided by several people and all got wasted to help the time pass...well, ok, not really.  This was really a great experience because everyone got the opportunity to see each other once again, some for the first time since we left for college in August.Mostly everybody was happy to see each other.  I had some trouble warming up to Katie, a.k.a. Satan, but she and I ended up getting along rather well. Of course, after the clock struck midnight, some of us carried on the tradition of running around the block screaming and blowing our noisemakers to let all the lazy, sleeping, worthless people in my neighborhood that the new year had, in fact, arrived.  Only a select few of us could hold the endurance to run the entire length of the block.  My wonderful parents were there to provide the watchful eye over the ever-wreckless college students even though they ended up staying in their room for the entire night.  I had to walk in there and wake them up at 11:58 so they wouldn't miss the new year!  How ganky is that?  I guess that's how you are when you get middle-aged.  You just don't seem to care as much about new years anymore.  It always fascinates me, for some reason.  I just enjoy the feeling that New Year's brings to everybody.  After New Year's, everyone gets a fresh start and can change or start over on whatever they want to.  I love being able to wipe the slate clean.  Well, that's it for 2002.
