1843- Brunel launches Great Britain, the first large iron ship

The Titanic Sank- 1912

 

 

1950s- Containers revolutionize cargo ships and ports

 Jet ski was designed by Clayton Jacobson- 1963

1979- Launch of Seawise Giant also called Jahre Viking, largest supertanker ever built

Exxon Valdez; oil disaster- 1989

1998- The Grand Princess, a cruise ship with capacity for 109,000 tons of cargo and 2,600 passengers, sets sail.
