WELCOME TO THE PARENT'S LITERACY PAD!

Leap on over to one of these great sites to see what you can do to help your child "ribbit" on over to better reading and writing.

We all know that reading is important.  Reading in the summer time is VERY important for your child.  Use this site to find books for your child to read over the summer.  Keep your child busy with reading and they will love it!  Go to this site if you need tips on how to help your child read while home for the summer.

If your child is into reading more books by the same author then leap on over to the Author's Corner.  Click on the Author, then click on books by that person, and you will find many books by that same author that you can suggest to your child.  You can also find out personal information about the author.

Many schools use Weekly Reader in their classrooms.  There is a section dedicated to parents.  Go here and check out new features, tips, or current events in reading and writing with your child.

Reading with your child is important.  Read these stories with your child, and do activities about the reading together afterwards.    This site also has a "survival manual" for adults that is worth checking out.

Are you trying to teach a reading or writing skill to your child?  If you need new ideas on how to teach to a specific grade level, go to Compact for Reading.  Just scroll down until you find the skill that you are working on, and you have many activities to help you in no time.
