Brian
Eckstein
Production Manager
Brian started
in radio at age 16 in 1988 at WOKZ radio in Muncie (now 104.9FM).
He began volunteering at IPR (then WBST) his senior year at Yorktown
High School in 1990 as a board operator for four hours every Saturday
night. Later, while attending Ball State, Brian worked under John
Althardt in the news department, earning numerous Associated Press
awards. He was also recognized for the theme music he composed for
various station programs. After graduating from Ball State in 1995
with a major in Telecommunications and minor in Music Theory, Brian
worked briefly as the Morning Edition and Classical Music
Host at Northeast Indiana Public Radio (WBNI) in Fort Wayne. He
returned full time to IPR in December 1997, where he served as Assistant
Producer for the national production of Rock & Roll America.
Today, Brian oversees the station's student operators, all aspects
of recorded production, and the digital automation system. When
not working, Brian is a composer, a freelance producer, and a musician
at St. Francis of Assisi church. He enjoys computers, restaurants,
travel, and making new friends.
