China, one of the most ancient cultures in the world, is also one of the most rapidly changing on the globe. Experience China’s transformation by becoming an instructor of English as a Second Language (ESL) for a year at a Chinese University or Secondary School through TECU – Teaching English in Chinese Universities / Secondary Schools.

TECU is a partnership between Ball State University– one of the leading institutions in the field of study abroad, and the China Educational Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) – the largest non-governmental international education exchange organization in China.  This program provides on-site orientation in China organized by Ball State University, placement at a Chinese University / Secondary School, salary, housing, and round trip airfare.

While some teaching experience is preferred, the principle qualifications are to have a Bachelor’s degree, be a native English speaker with US citizenship, be in good health, and enjoy experiencing other cultures.
