In the autumn of 1949, Sicun Middle school, which was founded in 1921, was merged with Peiping Municipal No. 8 Middle School, thus founding Beijing No. 8 Middles School. In 1951, Beijing No. 8 Middle School moved to its present location.

Beijing No. 8 Middle School is one of key schools in Beijing, with two separate campuses for junior and senior middle school students, 284 employees in staff, more than 2,200 students, the possessed area of 34,900m² and the constructed area of 44,000m², as well as the first-class of schoolhouses and modern facilities.

This middle school was established in 1921. it was appraised as an advanced unit of nationwide education system in a merits meeting 1959, and it won the same credit standing from State Education Committee in 1986. Also, it was titled an advanced school with feature teaching measures in 1997 and it was appointed as a campus school among Beijing’s senior middle schools in 2003.

The school has 5 top-rank teachers and 75 senior ones. All of them are experienced in teachings.
