School Environment and History

 In the autumn of 1949, Sicun Middle school, which was founded in 1921, was merged with Peiping Municipal No. 8 Middle School, thus founding Beijing No. 8 Middles School. In 1951, Beijing No. 8 Middle School moved to its present location.

Beijing No. 8 Middle School is one of key schools in Beijing, with two separate campuses for junior and senior middle school students, 284 employees in staff, more than 2,200 students, the possessed area of 34,900m2 and the constructed area of 44,000m2, as well as the first-class of schoolhouses and modern facilities.

This middle school was established in 1921. it was appraised as an advanced unit of nationwide education system in a merits meeting 1959, and it won the same credit standing from State Education Committee in 1986. Also, it was titled an advanced school with feature teaching measures in 1997 and it was appointed as a campus school among Beijing’s senior middle schools in 2003.

The school has 5 top-rank teachers and 75 senior ones. All of them are experienced in teachings.

For guideline of education, the school places an emphasis on the teachings for future excellent educated students who have right ambitions, full moralities, basic skills and outstanding characteristics. The school’s principle is focused on dealing with matters relating to work. The teachings feature the trainsnormal education of middle schools, the study guide of middle school students, the network of morality, the educations of art and psychology, the scientific activities, the educational research and the traditional games of track and field and basketball.

Beijing No. 8 Middle School has a variety of exchanges with many foreign schools. It has made the friendly relationship with five middle schools in Japan, France, Italy, the United Kingdom and Australia. It will send teachers and students for exchanges and academic activities in those schools once a year.
