Form Activity Idea

Objective:
The students will develop a connection between musical form used in Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral with the conventions of poetry.

Materials:
Recording of Elsa's Procession
Worksheets for students

Activity:
1.  Have the students listen to the piece
2.  Identify the themes in the ternary form
3.  Follow the worksheet to compare this form to poetry
4.  Create poems with similar form to the piece

The students should be able to draw a connection between the structure of the piece and poetry from English class.
