Orientation to Online Learning: Logging on to Blackboard at BSU Note: Streaming video orientations available at: http://web.bsu.edu/ctt/bb_videos/bb_student_videos_index.html RealPlayer required (free download here)
1. Aim your browser at http://my.bsu.edu which will take you to the Blackboard (Bb) portal for Ball State. You may wish to bookmark this page or add it to your browser's "favorites."
(Just a note: Don't be confused by graphics or "screen captures" like the one above. It is just a picture and you can't click on menu or button items. At times, clicking on a small illustration will open a larger view, but this will still just be a picture.)
2. Type in your "BSU Computer Username" and BSU Computer Password." Click "Login." If you can't get this window, then there is a good chance the Ball State server is temporarily down. Try again later. If your username and password do not work, try the procedure listed on the Getting Help page.	Login Welcome Window - larger image -

3. The "Blackboard @ BSU" portal window lists any of your BSU courses using Blackboard. There is other information here you might find useful. Feel free to click around. To get to our class, click on the link to the class you wish to visit.	Blackboard @ BSU Portal Window - larger image -

5. This should take you to the Blackboard Web site for that class. By default, the menu is on the left, and the right frame of this page lists announcements. (Colors and features vary by course.)	Bb Announcements Page - larger image -
