| MUNCIE, Ind.- Joel Walton has been involved with the Ball State Men's Volleyball program for quite some time. He enters his sixth year of coaching at Ball State after spending eight seasons as an assistant coach under the guidance of legendary coach Don Shondell.
Walton's primary responsibility during his eight seasons on Shondell's staff was recruiting coordinator. Over that period, he signed student-athletes who received All-America honors on eight occasions and all-MIVA recognition 13 times. Walton, who played for Shondell from 1985-88, says he appreciates his mentor's confidence and is very grateful for the opportunity. I really feel that this is the greatest coaching job in the nation and I look forward to the future challenges. My student-athletes and I relish the opportunity to continue the tradition of excellence that Coach Shondell has established. |
