 The research projects illustrate the areas of evolutionary theory that I have found most interesting to explore. If these or similar issues pique your interest, then I would be happy to discuss possible graduate mentoring with you. Although my primary expertise is with invertebrates, some past students have addressed ecological questions with vertebrate animals. I feel strongly that each student, through consultation with an advisor, should develop their own specific hypothesis for testing. Such research questions can be part of on-going projects or a wholly independent study. I am also interested in student projects that involve collaborations with my colleagues whose expertise opens other avenues for exploration (for example, the use of molecular techniques to explore behavioral questions).
