The research projects illustrate the areas of evolutionary theory that I have found most interesting to explore.  If these or similar issues pique your interest, then I would be happy to discuss possible graduate mentoring with you.  Although my primary expertise is with invertebrates, some past students have addressed ecological questions with vertebrate animals.  I feel strongly that each student, through consultation with an advisor, should develop their own specific hypothesis for testing.  Such research questions can be part of on-going projects or a wholly independent study.  I am also interested in student projects that involve collaborations with my colleagues whose expertise opens other avenues for exploration (for example, the use of molecular techniques to explore behavioral questions).  The most efficient way to contact me if you wish to discuss graduate work at Ball State is via electronic mail at gdodson@bsu.edu
