Characteristics

Habitat: well-drained, sandy soil
Plant Height: to 25 cm
Flower Color: colors vary; white, blue to purple, red to pink or yellow
Flower: 6-parted, funnel-shaped; fragrant
Inflorescence: large terminal raceme borne on large erect stalk
Fruit: capsule
Leaves: basal, linear, narrow
Bloom Time: early spring
Origins: non-native (Eurasia)
