Complementary Academic Programs:
- Department of Educational Studies.
EDTEC is academically situated in the Department of Educational Studies and
therefore our programs intersect with a number of
other programs in Educational Studies.
- Department of Elementary Education.
EDTEC has a long-standing cooperation with Elementary
Education with its academic and infrastructure
initiatives. EDTEC faculty designed and supported the TC
211 lab and worked with elementary education to revised
the technology
concentration with the Department of Industry and
Technology. More recently, EDTEC provided a technology focus area for
the M.A. in Elementary Education.
- Department of Special Education.
EDTEC faculty and graduate students work with Special
Education in its rGrade training and integration and we
have reciprocal course requirements for SPCED 331/631
in our Computer Education License and for
EDTEC 350 the their new Exceptional Needs Mild Interventions
Teaching License.
- Department of Journalism. To
recognize of our common curricula in digital media, EDTEC
offers a special version of the Computer Education
License for Journalism Education majors in which
these students can earn a second license to bolster
their marketability in K-12 schools.
- Department of Industry and Technology. EDTEC teaches online courses to serve as education requirements for the M.A. in Technology Education. We also work closely with the Technology Education program to serve elementary education students in the technology concentration.
