  Students suggested that a Clean-Up day would improve the condition of streams and the neighborhood.  Even though the area near Harshman Middle School, including Pogue’s Run, is tended during regular spring and fall season Clean-Up days, Pleasant Run is not so lucky. Pupils conducted a survey of the residents near the neglected run to determine their interest in participating in a Clean-Up day; results of the survey are contained in the graph below.  The class also contacted various organizations for resources to support the project.  The Harshman "Stream Clean-Up" day was a great success.

Field Trip to Water Treatment Plant To help students better understand water pollution, the class attended several city council meetings on the subject and took field trips to water treatment plants. Tanks at Plant
