Answering Machine Inventor Hears His 'Beep'

The man who invented the telephone answering machine has died at age 92. Joseph Zimmermann Jr., who died Wednesday, crafted the machine in 1948 and patented it a year later.
Memorials can be left with name, number and a brief message after the tone.
